Stories that remember.

You type what your character does. The story writes the next page, and everyone in it remembers what you did.

Salt · page 212Saltmarsh · the net sheds · dusk

Ivo does not look up from the net. His hands keep moving, knot over knot, the way they have since before the thaw.

“The river’s open,” he says. “You said a boat. Before the ice went. Where’s my boat?”

I

You type what you do.

A line of dialogue, a decision, a half-formed plan. Write as much or as little as you want, and the next page picks it up.

II

People remember you.

Everyone you meet has their own history with you. While you read, hover over a name to see who they are and what they think of you right now.

III

People can be lied to.

Tell someone a lie and they’ll believe it until they find out. The story keeps track of what actually happened, separately.

IV

Promises come back.

Promises, secrets and debts go into the story’s record. Four hundred pages later, someone might still ask about that boat.

The end

When a story ends, you get a poster.

It counts what you did: how often you said no, who changed their mind about you, and where you left the plan behind. Pick a colour and share it.

A passage is one turn of the story, written for you. The numbers are rough because long passages use up more than short ones. Your allowance resets each month, and there’s a cap on any five hours so it can’t all go in one night.

Questions

Asked often

What happens to my stories? Do you train on them?

We never sell your data and never use your stories for advertising. We do not train on your stories, and the Storyteller, Novelist, Dramatist and Minimalist voices are called with training explicitly disabled. There are two exceptions, both off unless you switch them on and both revocable: “Help train our writer” lets us use finished passages, without any link to you, for our own model, and the optional Muse voice is provided on terms that let Meta train on those stories. You can export and delete everything at any time.

What if Anderbuch closes?

Your stories are yours, and they leave with you. If Anderbuch ever closes, every reader gets at least 90 days’ notice and every story back as a file. You don’t have to wait for that: every story can be exported at any time, and your whole account from Settings.

What about mature content?

Anderbuch is for adults: you must be 18 or older to use it. You choose the content level per story. The mature level (18+) is opt-in and covers darker, more graphic themes; romance fades to black, and sexual content involving minors or explicit sexual content is never allowed, in any world, for any reason.

Can I bring my own model key (BYOK)?

Yes, on the Your own key plan (€15 a month incl. VAT). Connect OpenRouter in one click, or paste an OpenRouter or DeepInfra key. Storyteller and Novelist are written on your key, and your provider’s terms and costs apply to that writing; we run the world around it. The key is stored encrypted and used only for your passages. If it is refused or runs out of credit, the passage stops and says so; it is never written on our keys instead.

How do I cancel?

Anytime, from your account settings — it opens the secure customer portal where you manage payment and cancellation. You keep your plan until the end of the billing period, and your stories stay readable on the free plan.

Is there a free plan?

Yes. The Reader plan is free: enough to start a world and find out whether the product is for you, with reading and export unmetered.
